This sand foot scrub is a super exfoliator!
Which is just what my feet need when I’ve been wearing my flip-flops all summer.
- 4 Tablespoons of Sand
- 2 tsp of Diatomaceous Earth
- 1 Tablespoon of melted Organic Coconut Oil
:) Making the Scrub:
Simply, mix all of the above ingredients. I like simple recipes with only a few ingredients.
However, to kick this up a notch you could add a few drops of Vitamin E and your favorite essential oil.
Use lavender to relax your muscles, tea tree oil to disinfect, lemon oil to detoxify or frankincense to reduce pain and inflammation.
:) Where to Find the Sand:
Well…. I collected my sand outside, I washed it in hot soapy water and then strained it.
I let it dry out in the sun and then sifted it to get the larger pebbles out of it.
I like to soak my feet before scrubbing them.
The soak helps soften and loosen the dead skin before scrubbing it off.
Because this is sand, I don’t recommend pouring it down the sink.
I use the scrub outside and collect it in the tub I soaked my feet in and then pour it all out outside.
I like to follow it up with some homemade lotion using 1 Tablespoon of melted Organic Coconut Oil with 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil.
