{FREE} BENEVOLENCE : Slightly Oversized Cowl Knitting Pattern

knit cowl on a fur blanket

Grab this slightly oversized FREE cowl knitting pattern. This is a beginner cowl knitting pattern that’s knit flat and easy to adjust for any yarn type. No purling required!

This is an older pattern that I’ve recently updated to make the edges cleaner and I made it a little wider so it isn’t so snug on my neck, which I really like.

I kept it the same height because it’s perfect for folding over and hiding the edge. Even though the edge is pretty I still like to fold it over, it gives me a little more warmth too.

I like that it’s not too bulky, it doesn’t get in the way or weigh me down.

I’ve worn it for a few days now and I’m happy to say that it’s not itchy and it’s super warm! :)

This is a super easy garter stitch pattern! I hope it inspires you to create your own cowl. Just use your favorite yarn with a needle that gives you a nice relaxed stitch. CO more stitches if you’re using a thinner yarn with smaller needles and CO few stitches if you’re using a bulkier yarn with larger needles and then follow the pattern until it’s the perfect diameter for you.
