DOLL PONCHO PATTERN:

:) About:

  • Time it took me to knit: 6-8 hours
  • Dimensions {laying flat}: 10” {25cm} wide x 9″ {15cm} tall
  • Size: Fits an 18” doll
  • Gauge: 21 sts & 33 rows per 4” {10cm} square {knit in the pattern below}
  • Weight: 1.1 oz {31g}
  • Yarn: Sheepaca Yarn by Wool and the Gang {Unsure of the weight & category}
  • Needles: Size 6 {4mm} straight needles
  • Other tools: Darning needle

:) Pattern:

  • CO 27 STS
  • Rows 1-71: *K1, YO, K2TOG* {Click here to watch the video tutorial for this stitch.}
  • Row 72: BO in the K1, P1 pattern, ending with a K1.
  • Make a second the same as the first.
  • Block each one to measure 5 ¼” x 8 ½”.
  • Allow to dry.
  • Sew the short side of A to the long side of B and then sew the short side of B to the long side of A. I had a hard time visualizing this, so I pinned it together with safety pins before I actually sewed it, so I knew I was doing it right.

DOLL SWEATER PATTERN:

  • Dimensions {laying flat}: 12” {30cm} wide x 6 1/4″ {16cm} tall
  • Size: Fits an 18” doll
  • Gauge: 20 sts & 31 rows per 4” {10cm} square {knit in the pattern below}
  • Weight: 1.2 oz {35g}
  • Yarn: Sheepaca Yarn by Wool and the Gang {Unsure of the weight & category}
  • Needles: Size 5 {3.75mm} straight needles
  • Needles: Size 6 {4mm} straight needles
  • Other tools: Darning needle
  • Note: Knit top down. FYI – This is snug and isn’t easy to get over her head and hands. You’ll knit the top front half and then the top back half and then join them together and knit in the round starting under the arms, so you don’t have a seam. You could continue knitting them flat and seam it at the sides.

:) Pattern, Body:

  • Top front half:
  • Using size 5 {3.75mm} straight needles, CO 30 STS
  • Row 1, 3, 5: *K1, P1*
  • Row 2, 4: *P1, K1*
  • Switch to size 6 {4mm} straight needles
  • Row 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28: *K*
  • Row 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29: *P*
  • Place these 30 STS on a holder or scrap piece of yarn.
  • Repeat rows 1-29 to create the top back half.
  • Slip the stitches from the top front half onto the needles with your back half, joining the front and back and then knit in the round for 18 rounds or until your desired length.
  • Rounds 30-48: *K*
  • Round 49, 51: *K1, P1* K1
  • Round 50, 52: *P1, K1* P1
  • Round 53: BO off in the *K1, P1* K1

:) Pattern, Sleeve:

  • Using size 5 {3.75mm} straight needles
  • CO 1 stitch
  • Row 1: INC1, K1, INC1
  • Row 2: *P*
  • Row 3: INC1, K3, INC1
  • Row 4: *P*
  • Row 5: INC1, *K*, INC1
  • Row 6: *P*
  • Repeat rows 5-6 until you have 25 STS.
  • Join in the round.
  • Knit the next 10 rounds.
  • Next 4 rounds:
  • Round 1, 3: *K1, P1* K1
  • Round 2, 4: *P1, K1* P1
  • Round 5: BO off in the *K1, P1* K1
  • Repeat the sleeve pattern above for the second sleeve.
  • Sew the sleeves onto the body of the sweater.

DOLL PANTS PATTERN:

  • Gauge: 20 sts & 31 rows per 4” {10cm} square {knit in the pattern below}

  • Needles: Size 5 {3.75mm} needles with 24” cable & 36” cable
  • Needles: Size 6 {4mm} needles with 24” cable
  • Other tools: Darning needle
  • Note: Knit bottom up, one leg at a time and then knit together.
  • Note: The front and back are the same.

:) Pattern, 1 pant leg:

  • Knit using the magic-loop-method.
  • Using size 5 {3.75mm} needles with 24” cable, or longer
  • CO 32 STS, split 16 STS per needle, join in the round
  • Round 1, 3, 5: *K1, P1* K1
  • Round 2, 4: *P1, K1* P1
  • Round 6-44 : *K*
  • One leg is finished, save these to be worked later.
  • Knit the second leg the same as the first.
  • Place both legs on Size 5 {3.75mm} needles with 36” cable.
  • Slip the front of both leg stitches on the front needle and slip the back of both legs on the back needles.
  • Knit in the round, joining all stitches.
  • Knit for 6 rounds.
  • Next round: K2TOG, knit the remainder of the front stitches. K2TOG, knit the remainder of the back stitches. Repeat this round until you have 50 STS remaining.
  • Knit the next 8 rounds.
  • Switch to size 6 {4mm} needles with 24” cable, or longer.
  • Next 4 rounds:
  • Round 1, 3: *K1, P1* K1
  • Round 2, 4: *P1, K1* P1
  • Round 5: BO off in the *K1, P1* K1
  • Weave in ends.
