  • Switch to size 15 {10mm} needles with 16″ {41cm} circular cable
  • Round 5-30, approx. 6 ½”: *K*
  • Round 31: *K6, K2TOG* {- 5 STS, 35 STS remaining}

  • Round 36: *K1, K2TOG* {- 5 STS, 10 STS remaining}
  • Do not bind-off. Leave a long tail, about 10″, and pull it through the remaining STS remove markers. Pull tight and push through the top hole to the inside and weave in the ends.

:) Blocking:

  • I like to block this one. It’s a little weird, but I use a saucer. Like a teacup and saucer ;) I put it inside the hat, so the bottom “swirl” is in the center of the saucer and the saucer is bulging outward. I get a clean washcloth soaking wet and press it on the “swirl” until it’s fairly damp and let it dry overnight. I find that I have to play with it for awhile before I’m happy with it, but once I’ve worn it for about a week, it’s shaped just as I like with very little effort.

:) Gauge:

  • Gauge: 9 sts & 15 rows per 4” {10cm} square {knit in the round, stockinette stitch}
  • Crazy Hat Gauge
