Measurements: 6 1/2″ wide x 6″ {16cm x 15cm}
Gauge: 10 STS & 17 rounds per 4” {10cm} square, knit in the pattern below
Weight: 3.9oz {110g}
Notes:
Not reversible.
Knit top down.
Knit using the seed stitch.
Knit in the round with a circular needle.
When knitting in the round you’re always knitting the right side of your work.
I knit the basket using small needles to get a tight stitch, so it will stand up on it’s own.
Video:
I create this like I end a hat, which I’ve created a video for and I do it all with my circular cable needles.
Basket Pattern, Knit Flat {Back & Forth}:

Round 2: *P1, K1*
Repeat rounds 1-2, 11 more times or until desired height.

Bottom Pattern, Knit in the Round:
Using size 11 {8mm} needles with 16″ {41cm} circular cable
CO 43 STS, PM, join in the round.
Round 1: *K1, P1, K1, P1, K2TOG, P1, K1, P1, K2TOG* {3 times} K1, P1, K1, P1, K2TOG, P1, K1, P1, K1 {36 STS remain}
Round 2: *P1, K1, P1, K2TOG, K1, P1, K2TOG* {28 STS remain}

Don’t bind-off. Cut thread leaving about 12″ {30cm}, pull through the remaining STS, pull tight, push it through the center into the inside and weave in the ends.
End:
I used a crochet hook to sew the bottom onto the basket.
Weave in the ends.
No blocking necessary.
