Knit flat using straight needles:
CO in multiples of 5 +4
Row 1 (RS): *P4, KFBF* P4 (increase 2 stitches per repeat)

Row 3 (RS): *P4, K3TOG* P4 (decrease 2 stitches per repeat)
Row 4 (WS): K4 *P1, K4*
Repeat rows 1-4, until desired length.
