Not quite ready to try your hand at cable stitches? Try this Mock Cable Knitting Stitch to get started!

About the Stitch
This mock cable rib stitch is a 4 row repeat, consisting of 1 increase twist stitch and 1 decrease stitch on the right side rows. The wrong side rows, back of your work, are simple and relaxing.
If you’re wanting to knit a reverse stockinette stitch scarf or blanket and you’d like to add a cable stitch, this mock cable would be perfect to give your project some “pop.”
This mock cable twisted stitch pattern creates a lovely fabric with the gorgeous texture of mock cables.
This is not a reversible pattern, meaning that the front and back are not the same.
There are 2 increase stitches on row one, so you’ll have 2 more stitches per repeat than you started with. To even it out, there are 2 decrease stitch, so you’ll have 2 fewer stitches per repeat than you started with.
