Materials

  • Any Yarn

Instructions

Knit flat using straight needles:

  • CO in multiples of 23, plus 5
  • Row 1 (RS): *P5, K18* P5
  • Row 2 (WS): K5 *P18, K5*
  • Row 3 (RS): *P5 (C6B – 3x)* P5
  • Row 4 (WS): K5 *P18, K5*
  • Row 5 (RS): *P5, K18* P5
  • Row 6 (WS): K5 *P18, K5*
  • Row 7 (RS): *P5, K3 (C6F – 2x) K3* P5
  • Row 8 (WS): K5 *P18, K5*
  • Repeat rows 1-8, until desired length.

Abbreviations

  • *– * – repeat between *asterisks* to the end of the round
  • CO – cast-on (long-tail cast-on method)
  • K – knit stitches (example: K1 means to knit 1 stitch)
  • C6B – right cable – cable 6 back – slip 3 stitches to a cable needle and hold it in the back of your work, knit the next 3 stitches off your left hand needle and then knit the 3 stitches off the cable needle
  • C6F – left cable – cable 6 front – slip 3 stitches to a cable needle and hold it in the front of your work, knit the next 3 stitches off your left hand needle and then knit the 3 stitches off the cable needle
  • P – purl stitches (example: P2 means to purl 2 stitches)
  • RS - right side of your work
  • STS - stitches
  • WS - wrong side of your work
