Lacy Stars Lace Knitting Stitch Pattern

Learn how to knit this advanced beginner lace knit stitch in the video tutorial below. This stitch looks like a star or daisy or snow flake, depending on your style, you can call it what you like. :)
Today’s stitch has a couple of new techniques. It uses a double decrease that lays nice and flat and doesn’t cause the yarn to pucker. {It’s the little things.}
Materials:
Size US 13 {9mm} Knitting Needles

CO in multiples of 8+5 STS
For my swatch I CO 21 STS
Row 1 {WS}: *P*
Row 2 {RS}: K4 *K2TOG TBL, YO, K1, YO, K2TOG, K3* K1
Row 3 {WS}: *P*
Row 4 {RS}: K5 *YO, SL2, K1, P2SSO, YO, K5*
Row 5 {WS}: *P*
Row 6 {RS}: {same as 2}
Row 7 {WS}: *P*
Row 8 {RS}: K2TOG TBL, YO, K1, YO, K2TOG *K3, K2TOG TBL, YO, K1, YO, K2TOG*
Row 9 {WS}: *P*
Row 10 {RS}: K1 *YO, SL2, K1, P2SSO, YO, K5* last 4 sts YO, SL2, K1, P2SSO, YO, K1
Row 11 {WS}: *P*
Row 12 {RS}: {same as 8}
Repeat rows 1-12 until desired length.
Tip:
Increase and decrease on the same row, so the stitch count is the same on all rows.
I would block this stitch to help define the stars.
These stars would look cute lined up in a row on a summer top or a hat. You could also use them around the edges of a blanket for a border.

Abbreviations:
* – * – repeat pattern
CO – cast-on {long-tail cast-on method}
K – knit stitches {K1 means to knit 1 stitch}
K2TOG – knit 2 stitches together
K2TOG TBL – knit 2 stitches together through the back loop
P – purl stitches {P2 means to purl 2 stitches}
P2SSO – pass 2 slipped stitches over the knit stitch
RS – right side
SKP – slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit the next stitch, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch
SL2 – slip 2 stitches purl-wise
STS – stitches
WS – wrong side
YO – yarn over
