Learn how to knit this beginner lace knit stitch in the video tutorial below.
No new stitches today, just a different combination of stitches that we’ve already learned. It’ll also help prepare you for tomorrow’s stitch.
Materials:
Size US 13 {9mm} Knitting Needles
Yarn: Lana Grande by Cascade Yarns
Video Tutorial:
Pattern, Knit Flat:
CO in multiples of 6+1 STS
For my swatch I CO 19 STS
Row 1 {RS}: K1 *YO, K2TOG TBL, K1, K2TOG, YO, K1*
Row 2 {WS}: *P*
Row 3 {RS}: K1 *YO, K1, SK2PO, K1, YO, K1*
Row 4 {WS}: *P*
Row 5 {RS}: K1 *K2TOG, YO, K1, YO, K2TOG TBL, K1*
Row 6 {WS}: *P*
Row 7 {RS}: K2TOG *[K1, YO] TWICE, K1, SK2PO* [K1, YO] TWICE, K1, K2TOG TBL
Row 8 {WS}: *P*
Repeat rows 1-8 until desired length.
Tip:
Even without a border it lays pretty flat.
Increase and decrease on the same row, so the stitch count is the same on every row.
This stitch needs to be blocked to show off the lace.
I think this would make a beautiful wrap or it would add a bit of lace on the bottom edge of a spring sweater.
