Pattern, Knit Flat:

CO in multiples of 8+1

Row 2 = Right side/Front

For my swatch I CO 25 STS

Row 1: K1 *P7, K1*
Row 2: P1 *K7, P1* {k the k’s and p the p’s}
Row 3: K2 *P5, K3* P5, K2
Row 4: P2 *K5, P3* K5, P2 {k the k’s and p the p’s}
Row 5: K3 *P3, K5* P3, K3
Row 6: P3 *K3, P5* K3, P3 {k the k’s and p the p’s}
Row 7: K4 *P1, K7* P1, K4
Row 8: P4 *K1, P7* K1, P4 {k the k’s and p the p’s}
Row 9: P1 *K7, P1* {same as row 2}
Row 10: K1 *P7, K1* {same as row 1} {k the k’s and p the p’s}
Row 11: P2 *K5, P3* K5, P2 {same as row 4}
Row 12: K2 *P5, K3* P5, K2 {same as row 3} {k the k’s and p the p’s}
Row 13: P3 *K3, P5* K3, P3 {same as row 6}
Row 14: K3 *P3, K5* P3, K3 {same as row 5} {k the k’s and p the p’s}
Row 15: P4 *K1, P7* K1, P4 {same as row 8}
Row 16: K4 *P1, K7* P1, K4 {same as row 7} {k the k’s and p the p’s}
Repeat rows 1-16 until desired length.

If you’re not adding a border, to BO I recommend ending on a row 15 and BO in the row 16 pattern.

The whole thing is a bit wavy and has a tendency to curl, so I definitely recommend a border on your finished project.

BO – bind-off in pattern
CO – cast-on {long-tail cast-on method}
