Row 2: K1 *[P2, K2 twice] P1 [K2, P2 twice] K1* {k the k’s and p the p’s}
Row 3: P1 *[K2, P2 twice] K1 [P2, K2 twice] P1* {repeat row 1} {k the k’s and p the p’s}
Row 4: K1 *[P2, K2 twice] P1 [K2, P2 twice] K1* {repeat row 2} {k the k’s and p the p’s}
Row 5: [P2, K2 twice] *P3, K2, P2, K2* P2

Repeat rows 1-16 until desired length.
If you’re not adding a border, to BO I recommend ending on a row 15 and BO in the row 16 pattern.
This is a beautiful stitch and lays nice and flat and has a nice squish to it!
I think it would make a lovely scarf, and without adding a border :)
Abbreviations:
* – * – repeat pattern
BO – bind-off in pattern
CO – cast-on {long-tail cast-on method}
K – knit stitches {K1 means to knit 1 stitch}
P – purl stitches {P2 means to purl 2 stitches}
STS – stitches
