Feather Diamond Lace Knitting Stitch Pattern

Swatch of the Feather Diamond Lace Knit StitchPin

Welcome to Day 17 of the 21 Days of Lace Knit Stitches Series!

Learn how to knit this advanced beginner lace knit stitch in the video tutorial below. We’re going to be increasing and decreasing lacy diamonds, which look like overlapping leaves to me.

Today’s stitch is a larger version of yesterday’s stitch. In all honesty, I’m intimidated by stitches that have several rows and look complicated and this one looks complicated. {It really isn’t.} My comfort zone is 4 rows or less, and the fewer stitches the better. I hope you’ll be brave with me and give this one a try.

Materials:

Size US 13 {9mm} Knitting Needles
Yarn: Lana Grande by Cascade Yarns

Row 15 {RS}: K1 *YO, K3, SK2PO, K3, YO, K1*
Row 16 {WS}: *P*
Repeat rows 1-16 until desired length.

Tip:

Even without a border it lays nice and flat.

Increase and decrease on the same row, so the stitch count is the same on every row.

This stitch needs to be blocked to show off the lace.

This would make a beautiful triangle shawl with the point starting at one of the diamonds!
