Welcome to Day 19 of the 21 Days of Beginner Knit Stitches Series:
Box Knit Stitch

Video:

Music by Ben Sound

Materials:

Needles: US 10 {6mm}
Yarn: Roma by Debbie Bliss

Pattern, Knit Flat:

CO in multiples of 4+2
This is a reversible stitch, see the photos below

For my swatch I CO 18 STS

Row 1: K2 *P2, K2*
Row 2: P2 *K2, P2* {k the k’s and p the p’s}
Row 3: P2 *K2, P2*
Row 4: K2 *P2, K2* {k the k’s and p the p’s}
Repeat rows 1-4 until desired length.

If you’re not adding a border, to BO I recommend ending on a row 3 and BO in the row 4 pattern.

This is a great/easy pattern to pick up and put down, once you see the pattern it’s easy to follow.

Every other row you knit the same stitches {k the k’s and p the p’s} and every other row you knit the opposite stitch {k the p’s and p the k’s}.

Abbreviations:

* – * – repeat pattern
BO – bind-off in pattern
CO – cast-on {long-tail cast-on method}
K – knit stitches {K1 means to knit 1 stitch}
P – purl stitches {P2 means to purl 2 stitches}
STS – stitches
