Pattern, Knit Flat:

CO in multiples of 4
Row 1 = Right side/Front

CO 12 STS

Rows 1 & 5: *K2, YFWD, S2PW, YBK*
Rows 2 & 6: S1PW *YFWD, P2, YBK, S2PW* P3
Rows 3, 7, 9, 13: *YFWD, S2PW, YBK, K2*
Rows 4, 8, 12, 16: P1 *YBK, S2PW, YFWD, P2* YBK, S2PW, YFWD, P1
Rows 10 & 14: S1PW *YFWD, P2, YBK, S2PW* YFWD, P2, S1PW
Rows 11 & 15: *YBK, K2, YFW, S2PW*
Repeat rows 1-16, until desired length


Knit in the Round Video Tutorial

Pattern, Knit in the Round:

CO 36 STS, or in multiples of 4, PM, join in the round

Round 1: *K2, WYIF slip 2* remove SM, slip 1 ST from LH needle to the RH needle, replace the SM
Repeat round 1 – 7 more times
Round 9, 11, 13, 15: *WYIF slip 2, K2* slip 1 ST from LH needle to the RH needle, replace the SM
Round 10, 12, 14, 16: Repeat round 1
Repeat rounds 1 – 16, until desired length.


Abbreviations

*– * – repeat between asterisks
CO – cast-on (long-tail cast-on method)
K – knit stitches (example: K1 means to knit 1 stitch)
LH – left hand
P – purl stitches (example: P2 means to purl 2 stitches)
PM – place marker
RH – right hand
S1PW – slip 1 stitch purl-wise
S2PW – slip 2 stitches purl-wise
SM – stitch marker
ST – stitch
STS – stitches
WYIF – with yarn in front
YFWD – hold yarn forward, in front of work
YBK – hold yarn in back of work
