Notes:

  • Not reversible.
  • Knit top down.
  • Knit using the 2×2 rib & stockinette stitch.
  • Knit in the round with 16″ {40cm} cables.
  • I knit mine using HiyaHiya interchangeable needles with 3 1/2” {9cm} tips.
  • When knitting in the round you’re always knitting the right side of your work.
  • CO loosely, making sure your stitches slide easily. Too tight of a stitch will make these difficult to knit in the round. The first couple of rounds will be a little tight, but it gets easier as you go.

  • Calf Size: # of CO STS
  • L 12 – 15” {30-35cm}: CO 28 STS
  • XL 15 – 16” {35-40cm}: CO 32 STS

Pattern, Knit in the Round:

  • CO STS using the size chart above, PM, join in the round.

  • *K2, P2* for 8” {20cm} {rib pattern}
  • *K* for 10” {25cm}, 18” {46cm} from the beginning
  • BO in all knit STS.
  •  
  • End:
  • Weave in the ends.
  • No blocking necessary.
  • Knit the second the same as the first.

Pattern, Knit Flat {Back & Forth}:

  • CO STS using the size chart above, PM, join in the round.

  • *K2, P2* for 8” {20cm} {rib pattern}
  • Knit stockinette stitch for 10” {25cm}, 18” {46cm} from the beginning
  • BO in pattern

  • End:
  • Sew side edges together, not the CO & BO edges.
  • Weave in the ends.
  • No blocking necessary.
  • Knit the second the same as the first.

  • * – * – repeat between *
  • BO – bind-off in pattern
  • CO – cast-on {long-tail cast-on method}
  • K – knit stitches {K1 means to knit 1 stitch}
  • KITR – knit in the round
  • P – purl stitches {P2 means to purl 2 stitches}
