Pattern, Knit Flat {Back & Forth}:

CO 37 STS {CO in increments of 9 +10}

Row 1 {WS}: P4, K2 *P3, K1, P3, K2* P4

Row 2 {RS}: P4 *P2, K3, P1, K3* P6

Row 3 {WS}: Repeat row 1

Row 4 {RS}: Repeat row 2

Row 5 {WS}: Repeat row 1

Row 6 {RS}: P4 *P2, WYIB S1PW, K2, P1, K2, WYIB S1PW* P6

Row 7 {WS}: P4, K2 *WYIF S1PW, P2, K1, P2, WYIF S1PW, K2* P4

Row 8 {RS}: P4 *P2, drop Sl St off needle to front of work, K2, pick up dropped stitch and knit it, P1, WYIB slip next 2 STS, drop Sl St off needle to front of work, slip same 2 STSback onto LH needle, pick up dropped ST and knit it, K2* P6

Row 9 {WS}: Repeat row 1

Row 10 {RS}: Repeat row 2

Repeat rows 5-10, 6 more times for a total of 7 cables

To end:

Row 47: Repeat row 1

Row 48: Repeat row 2

Row 49: Repeat row 1

Row 50: BO in the row 2 pattern

Weave in the ends.

Blocking is optional, but it helps square it up and even out the stitches.

CO – cast-on {long-tail cast-on method}

K – knit stitches {K1 means to knit 1 stitch}

LH – left hand

P – purl stitches {P2 means to purl 2 stitches}

RS – right side
