  • Measurements, before seaming: 31″ wide x 7″ height {78cm x 18cm}
  • Gauge: 10 STS & 18 rows per 4″ {10cm} square, knit in the pattern below
  • Weight, with buttons: 6.3oz {180g}


  • Not reversible, with buttons.
  • Reversible, without buttons.
  • The CO edge is the height.
  • Knit using the garter knit stitch.
  • This cowl is knit flat, when you’re finished knitting you’ll sew the edges together making it a cowl.
  • This pattern does not include button holes, the buttons are sewn on top.

Pattern, Knit Flat {Back & Forth}:

  • CO 17 STS
  • Knit all rows, garter stitch, until you’ve used up 1 skein of yarn.
  • BO in all knit stitches.
  • Weave in the ends.
  • Block, if desired.
  • I sewed the buttons on top, without creating buttonholes and sewed the CO & BO edges to the long edge on the opposite end, crossing them.
