Knit from cuff to fingertip.

Knit using the stockinette stitch with a ridge.

Knit in the round using the magic loop method.

When knitting in the round you’re always knitting the right side of your work.

Pattern, Knit in the Round, Magic Loop Method:

CO 16 STS, split 8 STS per side, PM, join in the round.

Round 2-19: *K* EXCEPT 1, 3, 10, 15: *P*


{Next round: start thumb increase}

Round 20: SM, K1, PM, INC1, K1, INC1, PM, K14

Increase 2 thumb STS every round until you have 9 STS

Round 24: SM, K1, SM, K9, SM K14

Round 25: SM, K1, save thumb STS to work later, remove stitch markers, INC1, K14

Round 26-36: *K*

EXCEPT 30, 35: *P*

Round 37: BO using all *P* STS


End thumb gusset:

Pick-up the 9 thumb STS

Knit 3 rounds

Without binding-off, cut the yarn leaving a 10” tail, pull it through the remaining STS, push through the top hole to the inside.


Weave in the ends.

Block, if desired.

Knit the second the same as the first.

BO – bind-off in pattern

CO – cast-on {long-tail cast-on method}

INC1 – make 1 stitch {I used a backwards loop}

K – knit stitches {K1 means to knit 1 stitch}

P – purl stitches {P2 means to purl 2 stitches}
