Pattern Instructions

Using US 11 (8mm) circular needles with a 16” (40cm) cable.

CO 44 STS, PM, join in the round.

Rounds 1-5: *K1, P1*

Round 6: (increase 4 STS) *[K1, P1 x5] K1, INC1* x 4 (44+4 STS = 48 STS)

Rounds 7-23: *K2, P2*

EXCEPT Rounds 10 & 20: *C6F, P2* (Note: Even though the 2 center STS are purl STS, go ahead and knit them when cabling)

Note (Optional):

When the stitches get too tight switch to a longer cable and knit using the magic loop method.

Decrease for the crown:

Round 24: *K2, P2TOG, K2, P2TOG, PM*

Round 25: *K2TOG, P1, K2TOG, P1, SM*

Round 26: *K3TOG, P1, SM*

Round 27: *K1, P1, K1, P2TOG, remove stitch marker*

End:

Without binding-off, cut the yarn leaving a 10” (25cm) tail, pull it through the remaining STS, push through the top hole to the inside and then weave in the ends.

Block, if desired.
