Knitting Abbreviations

*– * – repeat between * to end of row
BO – bind-off in pattern
CO – cast-on (long-tail cast-on method)
C4F – cable4front – transfer 2 stitches to a cable needle and hold it in the front of your work, knit the next 2 stitches and then knit the 2 stitches off the cable needle
K – knit stitches (K1 means to knit 1 stitch)
P – purl stitches (P2 means to purl 2 stitches)
RS – right side
STS – stitches
WS – wrong side

Cozy Cable Knit Blanket Pattern Instructions

CO desired # of STS, see Sizes section above.

Beginning Cable Rows:

Row 1, 3, 5, 7 (WS): *K2, P4* K2
Row 2, 6 (RS): K2 *K4, P2* K4, K2
Rows 4 & 8 (RS): K2, *C4F, P2* C4F, K2

Stockinette Stitch Middle:
All ODD rows 11-? (WS): K2 *P* K2
All EVEN rows 12-? (RS): *K*
Follow in the stockinette stitch until you’ve reached your desired length, minus 2 1/2″ (6cm).

Ending Cable Rows:

Row 1 (RS): K2, *C4F, P2* C4F, K2
Row 2 (WS):*K2, P4* K2
Row 3 (RS): K2 *K4, P2* K4, K2
Row 4 (WS): *K2, P4* K2
Row 5 (RS): K2, *C4F, P2* C4F, K2
Row 6 (WS): *K2, P4* K2
Row 7 (RS): K2 *K4, P2* K4, K2
Row 8 (WS): BO in the *K2, P4* K2 pattern

Weave in the ends.
