Welcome to Day 1 of the 21 Days of Lace Knit Stitches Series!
I’m keeping the first day super simple. I wouldn’t call this is a “true” lace stitch because it doesn’t have any increases or decreases, but I love that I can “cheat” to get a simple lace stitch just by changing the needle size. {See the examples below.}
Materials:

Size US 17 {12mm} Knitting Needles {optional}

Tip:
Place a stitch marker on the wrong side row to help remind you to switch needle size.
Using the Elongated Lace Knit Stitch:
This is an easy way to create an elongated stitch without using yarn-overs {We’ll be learning those tomorrow though!}
The thinner the yarn you use and the bigger the needle, the larger your elongated stitch will be, which gives you the lacy look without the increases and decreases.
This stitch would work great for designing a lacy scarf, easy triangle shawl, chunky wrap or a cotton summer tank top.
