Welcome to Day 15 of the 21 Days of Beginner Knit Stitches Series:
Broken Diagonal Seed Knit Stitch

Video:

Music by Ben Sound

Materials:

Needles: US 11 {8mm}
Yarn: Pacific Bulky by Cascade Yarns

Pattern, Knit Flat:

CO in multiples of 8
This is not a reversible stitch, see the photos below
Row 1 = Right side/Front

For my swatch I CO 24 STS
Row 0: *P*

Row 1: *K3, P1, K4*
Row 2: *P3, K1, P4*
Row 3: *K5, P1, K2*
Row 4: *P1, K1, P6*
Row 5: *K7, P1*
Row 6: *P*
Repeat rows 1-6 until desired length.

If you’re not adding a border, to BO I recommend ending on a row 5 and BO in the row 6 pattern.

The beginning and ending edges have a tendency to curl, as well as the edges, so I definitely recommend a border on your finished project :)

Abbreviations:

* – * – repeat pattern
BO – bind-off in pattern
CO – cast-on {long-tail cast-on method}
K – knit stitches {K1 means to knit 1 stitch}
