Dimensions {laying flat}: 4″ {10cm} tall x 9” {23cm} wide
Gauge: 14 sts & 15 rows per 4” {10cm} square {knit flat}
Size {Adult}: 21-22″ {53 – 56cm} head circumference

Materials:

Stitch Markers
Size US 13 {9mm} straight needles
About 100 yards of a super bulky yarn
{I used Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick Yarn}

Pattern:

CO 14 STS

Rows 1 – 55 (ODD rows, back): *P2, K2, P6, K2, P2*
Rows 2 – 54 (EVEN rows, front): *P4, K6, P4*
Rows 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48: *P4, C6F, P4*

Row 56: BO in pattern {meaning that you knit the knits and purl the purls just like you were doing in the body of the project.}

Sew CO & BO edge together.
No blocking necessary. :)

Modification Option: If you’d like to make it longer follow the above pattern for another 7 rows and BO on row 64.

Abbreviations:

* – * – repeat pattern
BO – bind-off in pattern
C6F – cable6front {Transfer 3 stitches to a cable needle and hold it in the front of your work, knit the next 3 stitches and then knit the 3 stitches off the cable needle}
CO – cast-on {long-tail cast-on method}
K – knit stitches {K1 means to knit 1 stitch}
P – purl stitches {P2 means to purl 2 stitches}
STS – stitches
