This throw came about because I was looking for a cause to support.

I wanted to knit something for my community and I was doing some online research when I came across a local nursing home looking for “lap robes” {among other things, but I was stuck on this term, I hadn’t heard of a lap robe before. So guess what, I Googled it. I got my answer, it’s “a thick blanket or pelt used for warming the lap and legs while traveling or sitting outdoors.”
I thought, I can do that! It’s like a blanket, but smaller. Which is great for my short-ish attention span.

I really love my new Magnanimity cowl, it has a lot of depth/squishy to it, so I turned it into a lap robe.

I thought maybe an elderly person who loved to knit when they were younger but can no longer do it because their fingers just don’t allow it, maybe they would really appreciate getting a hand knitted blanket.

I want to share my joy, the joy that I get when I knit.

This blanket it is beautiful and comfy and cozy and I want it to keep someone warm not just physically but in their heart too. One day I’m going to be old and I want someone to think of me, so I’m paying it forward.
