Gauge

22 STS & 40 rows per 4” (10cm) square, knit in the pattern below

Measurements

7 1/2″ square (19cm)

Notes

Reversible.
Knit diagonally.
Knit using the garter stitch.

Knitting Abbreviations

*– * – repeat between * to end of round
BO – bind-off in pattern
CO – cast-on (long-tail cast-on method)
INC1 – make 1 stitch (I use a backwards loop)
K – knit stitches (K1 means to knit 1 stitch)
K2TOG – knit 2 stitches together
P – purl stitches (P2 means to purl 2 stitches)
SKP – slip 1 stitch purl-wise, knit the next stitch, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch
SK2PO – slip 1 stitch purl-wise, knit 2 stitches together, pass the slipped stitch over the 2 stitches knitted together, decreasing 2 stitches
STS – stitches

CO 2 STS

Row 1: K1, INC1, K1

Row 2: K3

Row 3: K1, INC1, K1, INC1, K1

Row 4: K5

Row 5: K1, INC1, K3, INC1, K1

Row 6: K7

Row 7: K1, INC1, K5, INC1, K1

Row 8: K9

Repeat rows 7-8 until you have 55 STS on your needles

Decrease:

Row 1: K1, SKP, *K* K2TOG, K1

Row 2: *K*

Repeat rows 1-2 until you have 5 STS remaining on your needles

Next row: K1, SKP, K2TOG

Next row: K3

Next row: SK2PO (1 stitch remaining)

Weave in the ends.

Block, if desired.
