Measurements: 11 1/2″ wide x 7 1/2″ height (29cm x 19cm)
Gauge: 12 STS & 36 rounds per 4″ (10cm) square, knit in the pattern below

Child: CO 72 STS, BO on row 32, or desired height 75 – 100 yards (69 – 91 meters)
Adult: CO 90 STS, BO on row 49, or desired height 110 – 125 yards (101 – 114 meters)
Infinity scarf: CO 270 STS, BO on row 41, or desired height 300 – 350 yards (274 – 320 meters)
Notes
Not reversible.
Knit top down or bottom up.
Knit using the herringbone twill knit stitch.
Knit in the round with a circular needle.
When knitting in the round you’re always knitting the right side of your work.
At the beginning of every round, except round 1, remove the stitch marker, slip 1 ST from LH needle to the RH needle, replace the stitch marker
You can end this pattern on any round you like, so I added more rounds to the checklist below if you’d like to make it taller.
This is a very versatile cowl because you can CO in increments of 2 and end on whichever row you like :) So you can easily alter it to fit your style!
I knitted the adult size cowl in the photo.
Knitting Abbreviations
*– * – repeat between * to end of round
BO – bind-off in pattern
CO – cast-on (long-tail cast-on method)
K – knit stitches (K1 means to knit 1 stitch)
PM – place marker
STS – stitches
WYIF – with yarn in front
