Pattern, Knit in the Round:
Using US 10 {6mm} circular needles with a 16” {40cm} cable.
CO 64 STS, join in the round.
Knit all other rounds until desired length. I knit until I had about 12″ {30cm} of yarn left, no leftover yarn. :)
{Don’t worry about the beginning stitch, just end it whenever you’re about to run out of yarn.}
Note:
The hat in the photo does not have a crown decrease.
Crown Decrease {Optional}:
Round 1: *K6, K2TOG, PM*
Round 2: *K5, K2TOG, SM*
Round 3: *K4, K2TOG, SM*
Round 4: *K3, K2TOG, SM*
Round 5: *K2, K2TOG, SM*
Round 6: *K1, K2TOG, SM*
Round 7: *K2TOG, remove stitch marker*
End:
Without binding-off, cut the yarn leaving a 10” {25cm} tail, pull it through the remaining STS, push through the top hole to the inside and then weave in the ends.
Block:
To block this hat I use a saucer. Like a teacup and saucer. ;) I put it inside the hat, so the bottom “swirl” is in the center of the saucer and the saucer is bulging outward, spritz it with some water, pat dry with a clean towel and let it dry overnight.
