Notes

Not reversible.
CO edge is the circumference.
Knit bottom up or top down.
Knit using the sand knit stitch.
Knit in the round with a circular needle.
When knitting in the round you’re always knitting the right side of your work.

Knitting Abbreviations

*– * – repeat between * to end of round
BO – bind-off in pattern
CO – cast-on (long-tail cast-on method)
K – knit stitches (K1 means to knit 1 stitch)
P – purl stitches (P2 means to purl 2 stitches)
PM – place marker
STS – stitches

Save it for Later

Pattern Instructions

Knit in the round.

CO 72 STS, PM, join in the round.

Round 1: *K1, P1*

Round 2: *K*

Round 3: *P1, K1* 

Round 4: *K*

Repeat rounds 1-4, 14 times or until it’s about 16″, or desired height.

End on a row 4 and then BO in the K1, P1 pattern.

Weave in the ends.

Block, if desired.
