Notes

Not reversible.
Knit bottom up.
Knit using the 2×2 rib & fair isle stitch.
Knit in the round with a circular needle.
I used HiyaHiya interchangeable needles with 3 1/2″ (9cm) tips.
When knitting in the round you’re always knitting the right side of your work.
CO loosely, making sure your stitches slide easily. Too tight of a stitch will make these difficult to knit in the round. The first couple of rounds will be a little tight, but it gets easier as you go.

Knitting Abbreviations

*– * – repeat between * to end of round
BO – bind-off in pattern
CO – cast-on (long-tail cast-on method)
K – knit stitches (K1 means to knit 1 stitch)
KITR – knit in the round
P – purl stitches (P2 means to purl 2 stitches)
PM – place marker
STS – stitches

Pattern Instructions

Knit in the Round

Starting at the bottom cuff, 2×2 ribbing, use your accent color (light color in the photo)

CO 28 STS, PM, join in the round.

Rounds 1-6: *K2, P2*

Switch to your dominate color (taupe in the photo)

Round 7: *K*

Round 8: *with the dominant color K3, with the accent color K1*

Round 9: with the dominant color knit all STS

Round 10: with the dominant color K1, with the accent color K1, *with the dominant color K3, with the accent color K1* with the dominant color K2

Round 11: with the dominant color knit all STS (same as round 9)

Repeat rounds 8-11 one more time

Round 16: BO in the K1, P1 pattern

Weave in the ends.

Block, if desired.

Knit the second the same as the first.
