Notes

Not reversible.
The CO edge is the width.
Knit using the Slipped Rib Stitch.

Knitting Abbreviations

*– * – repeat between * to end of row
BO – bind-off in pattern
CO – cast-on (long-tail cast-on method)
K – knit stitches (K1 means to knit 1 stitch)
P – purl stitches (P2 means to purl 2 stitches)
RS – right side
S1PW – slip one stitch purl-wise
STS – stitches
WS – wrong side
WYIF – with yarn in front

Row 1 (WS): K4 *WYIF S1PW, K4* WYIF S1PW, K4

Row 2 (RS): K4 *K1, P4* K1, K4

Repeat rows 1-2, 23 more times, 7” (17cm), or until desired length.

Ending:

Row 1 (WS): K4 *WYIF S1PW, K4* WYIF S1PW, K4

BO in the Row 2 pattern

Blocking is optional, but it helps square it up and even out the stitches
