  • Measurements: 10 1/4″ x 9″ {26cm x 23cm}
  • Gauge: 7.5 sts & 11.5 rows per 4” {10cm} square {St St KITR}

Notes:

  • Knit bottom up.
  • Knit using the Rib Stitch & Stockinette Stitch.
  • 3 1/2” {9cm} needle tips makes it easier to join in the round than 5” {13cm} tips.
  • When knitting in the round you’re always knitting the right side of your work.
  • Adjust needle size to obtain the correct gauge.

Pattern, Knit in the Round:

  • Using Size US 15 {10mm} Knitting Needles with a 16″ {40cm} Cable
  • CO 40 STS, PM, join in the round.

  • Brim, Knit in the Round:
  • Rounds 1-4: *K1, P1*
  •  
  • Body, Knit in the Magic Loop Method:
  • Switch to Size: US 17 {12mm} Knitting Needles with a 32″ {40cm} Cable or longer or DPN’s
  • Rounds 5-19: *K* {measures about 6” from CO edge.}

  • Crown, Knit in the Magic Loop Method:
  • Round 20: *K3, K2TOG*
  • Round 21: *K2, K2TOG*
  • Round 22: *K1, K2TOG*
  • Round 23: *K2TOG*

  • Finishing:
  • Without binding off, cut or Break yarn, leaving a long tail.
  • Using a darning needle, thread the tail through the remaining stitches, pull tight and weave in on the WS.
  • Weave in your beginning tail.
